she's not alone.
3 cocktails and 4 hours later she was back home. Kinda drunk, kinda sober, kinda high. Kind of lonely. She starred outside the window while taking a deep breath. The room was quiet. Everyone was asleep, everything was in perfect balance. Nothing unusual, everything was in place but inside her brain there was chaos, thoughts mixed in with margaritas and the hum of the music that was playing at the bar. She was feeling a little dizzy but very emotional. Not sure why, not ever sure why being alone made her feel sad but comfortable all at the same time. Maybe cause she knew, deep down low she was aware, she’s never alone not then nor the day after nor ever. Every single night of her life, every single one, there was the moon, sometimes hidden behind clouds and others behind mountains or buildings, visible or not, whole or half, it was always there, the moon among the brightest and weakest of stars. Always in perfect balance with the galaxy, always watching and listening, never judging, always there, for better or for worse. No matter how bad or good the day was, it was there starring back at her. “But the moon can’t hug you, can’t tell you they love you, can’t talk to you”. Though it’s part of the universe, and so is she, and so are you, whether you’re surrounded but millions of people or just your own shadow. Whether you like it or not. Even if everything in your life is falling apart and you feel like everyone is or will soon abandon you, know that there is someone or…something that will always be there, always. All you have to do to feel its presence is pray to It, call It or simply… stare at it.
I love you,
yes, you.
Athina, x
